Texas Courts consider the willingness of a parent to comply with Court orders regarding a divorce settlement as an important criteria in determining who should get primary custody. If a parent is unwilling to follow a Courts Orders, they might lose primary child custody. It is generally in the "Best Interest" of a child to have regular contact with both parents. A parent who is unwilling to allow the other parent access to their child could lose custody, or worse, go to jail for contempt of court.
